Welcome & Introduction!

As we kick off the 2025-2026 school year, let's introduce FTC! FTC stands for Families, Teachers & Children, and is the parent-teacher organization for Salt Creek District 48, supporting Salt Creek Primary School, Stella May Swartz Elementary School and Albright Middle School. FTC's mission is to support the learning environment and expand the educational experiences in District 48. To do this, FTC hosts community building events and fundraisers of all types to raise money for District 48 schools. You can learn more about FTC on our website, where you can find more information on events and fundraisers, meet our executive board and create an account, making it easy to volunteer, fill out forms and donate! Back to School Forms

Welcome back to school! Please take the time to fill out the 2025/2026 back to school forms! You can do so physically with the forms that came home with your student or digitally on the FTC website here! There is a single form this year for membership, volunteer opportunities and donations! By filling out the membership form, you have the option of having your information available in the FTC directory, allowing you to connect with other families! Please have forms completed by September 12!

Thursday 8/28 | Back to School Social

TONIGHT! Join FTC as we kick off the school year with our Back to School Social on Thursday, August 28, 5-7 PM at Swartz! We will have hot dog meals from Heavenly Hot Dogs and sno-cones from Kona Ice! Hang out with new and old friends, enjoy the balloon twister, listen to music, play some yard games and play some volleyball and wiffle ball! All district families are welcome!

Viking Spiritwear Sale Through 9/15!

FTC has opened up the Viking Spiritwear Shop! T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, bags, hate and more will be available! Please note that there are separate sections for youth sizes, adult sizes and accessories. Also, some items have regular and glitter print options, so please confirm your choice. Order here by September 15. Orders will be distributed to your student approximately 3 weeks after sale ends.

Monday 9/15 | FTC Welcome & Parent Volunteer Meeting - Join Us!

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS! Want to learn how to volunteer in your student’s classroom and/or at school events? Do you have ideas or skills you’d like to contribute to District 48's parent teacher organization? Want to know what FTC does and how we raise money for our schools? THIS MEETING IS FOR YOU! Join us in the Albright cafeteria for pizza, snacks, drinks and more info on Monday, September 15 at 6:30!

Tuesday 9/16 | McTeacher Night!

FTC is partnering with McDonald's located at 190 E. Butterfield Rd in Elmhurst from 4 to 8 pm! Teachers from District 48 attend this dine out to meet new students and families, as well as reconnect with prior students!! 20% of sales go back to FTC. Remember to bring cash for cookies and tips, which are 100% donations!

FTC Cares - Fourth Grade Family Donation

We are heartbroken to share that on August 1st, the Downs family suffered an unimaginable loss when Scott Downs passed away unexpectedly. Scott leaves behind his wife and three boys, all of whom are part of our Salt Creek 48 family.

In the face of this loss, we are coming together as a district community to support the family during this difficult time. If you are able, please consider making a donation here to help ease their financial burden and show them they are not alone.

Monthly FTC Meetings

FTC meetings are the third Monday of each month at 7 PM, unless otherwise posted. Meeting info can always be found here and on the FTC calendar. New members are always welcome to learn about what FTC does and different ways you can get involved! Involvement can be large or small, we appreciate any way you can give your time! We love to hear new ideas and see new faces! The next regular meeting will be on Monday, September 16, following the FTC Welcome & Parent Volunteer Meeting! Please join us!
